Hyzar Uses Hyzar is in a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Hyzar prevents the constriction (narrowing) of blood vessels (veins and arteries). Hyzar is used to treat high blood pressure ( Hypertension) and to reduce the risk of stroke. How To Use Hyzar Take Hyzar exactly as directed on the package or as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you. Take each dose with a full glass of water.
It can be taken with or without. Never take more of this medication than is prescribed for you. Hyzar Side Effects This drug may cause following serious side effects : an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, or hives), or little or no urine. Other side effects are less serious. Continue to take Hyzar and talk to your doctor if you experience· diarrhea or upset stomach, muscle pain or cramps, dizziness, or insomnia. Hyzar Precautions Tell you doctor if you have kidney disease, have liver disease, are on a salt-restricted diet or have high levels of potassium in the blood, or are taking a potassium supplement (e.g., K-Dur, Klor-Con, others), or a potassium-sparing diuretic such as amiloride (Midamor), triamterene (Dyrenium, Dyazide, Maxzide), or spironolactone (Aldactone). Hyzaar should not be used without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy. As it might passes into breast milk and may affect a nursing infant. Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Hyzar may cause dizziness. If you experience dizziness, avoid these activities. Use alcohol cautiously. Alcohol may increase the side effects of Hyzar. Avoid a diet high in salt. Too much salt may cause the body to retain water and may decrease the effects of Hyzar. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Hyzar may increase the sensitivity of the skin to sunlight. Use a sunscreen and wear protective clothing when exposure to the sun is unavoidable. Avoid becoming overheated in hot weather and during exercise. It is easier to become dangerously de Hydrated while taking Hyzar.

If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up. Hyzar Storage Store Hyzar at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture.
