Serevent Uses Serevent is a steroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. It works by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing. Serevent inhalation is used to prevent asthma attacks How to Use Serevent Serevent inhalation exactly as directed by your doctor and read the Informationrmation insert included with your inhaler. Continue to use albuterol inhalation and talk to your doctor if you experience. headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, or insomnia, tremor or nervousness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, or dry mouth. Serevent Precautions Tell your doctor your medical history, including :heart disease or high blood pressure, epilepsy or another seizure disorder, diabetes, an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), or any type of liver or kidney disease.
Serevent should not be used without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy. As it might passes into breast milk and may affect a nursing infant. Avoid situations that may worsen your respiratory condition such as exercising in cold, dry air, smoking, breathing in dust, and exposure to allergens such as pet fur. Serevent Drug Interactions Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you are using, especially :a beta-blocker such as atenolol (Tenormin), metoprolol (Lopressor), propranolol (Inderal), acebutolol (Sectral), bisoprolol (Zebeta), carteolol (Cartrol), carvedilol (Coreg), labetalol (Normodyne, Trandate), nadolol (Corgard), or pindolol (Visken), a tricyclic antidepressant such as amitriptyline (Elavil), doxepin (Sinequan), nortriptyline (Pamelor), amoxapine (Asendin), clomipramine (Anafranil), desipramine (Norpramin), imipramine (Tofranil), or protriptyline (Vivactil), a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), or tranylcypromine (Parnate), or caffeine, a diet medicine, or a decongestant.
Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with Serevent. Talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines. Serevent Overdose If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include
angina or chest pain, irregular heartbeats or a fluttering heart, seizures, tremor, weakness, headache, nausea, and vomiting. Serevent Notes Do not share Serevent with others.
Serevent Missed Dose If you miss an Serevent dosage, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
Serevent Storage Store Serevent at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture.
